Hey there. I'm Patrick. I'm a 21 year old senior at Indiana University studying exercise science. I'm basically using this blog to get my thoughts out of my head and on to something tangible. We'll see how this goes.
I love hip-hop and rap. Personally I think Eminem is on the short list for best rapper of all time (opinion).
His new album, Recovery, comes out next Tuesday and I strongly suggest you go get it. It actually leaked online last week, so I’ve had the privilege to listen to it already (not gonna give you the link to the leak, because you should go buy it…if you really want it, it shouldn’t be too hard to find).
This is one of my favorite tracks on it. It’s a song dedicated to his best friend, Proof, who was killed in an altercation at a Detroit night club in 2006. Song is called ‘You’re Never Over’
I love how much Em put in to this, you can really tell Proof meant the world to him.
If you’ve been watching the World Cup, you’ve probably heard the vuvuzela. If you haven’t you can check what it sounds like here.
…whoops! Alright, this is what it really sounds like. You gotta admit, they’re pretty similar.
Anyways, there’s been a lot of conversation about them over the last week. Players and coaches are saying that they’re so loud that they can’t hear each other on the field and it’s hurting their play.
There’s talk of them being banned, with opinions being mixed. You can read the article, and tell me what you think.
So, if you follow me on twitter (cough, hint, follow me on twitter) you would know that I’m obsessed with the show Breaking Bad. In fact, the finale to season 3 aired tonight and I must say that it didn’t disappoint.
A quick plot overview for those who don’t watch:
Bryan Cranston (the dad from Malcolm in the Middle) plays Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with a serious form of lung cancer. In order to provide for his family before he dies, he begins to cook crystal meth. He partners with one of his old students, Jesse (played by Aaron Paul…he was a drunk guy in Van Wilder) who knows the business.
I won’t spoil anymore because it really is a fantastic show that you should experience for yourself. You can watch the pilot here. Between Walt trying to keep his life a secret from his family (including having a brother-in-law that works for the DEA) and Jesse dealing with his own addictions, there is plenty of drama and action to make it an amazing show.
If you like the pilot you can watch the rest of the episodes here. There’s plenty of time to catch up before season 4 starts.
Hello All (not that anyone is going to read this),
I figured it was only a matter of time before I started to blog. I’ve been signing up for a lot of stuff online lately (i.e. this, formspring, finally made a youtube account, foursquare a couple weeks ago). Not really sure why, maybe i’m just bored, lonely or am trying to be more internet savvy and social. More likely, I’ve developed a case of narcissism and truly love to see and hear things about myself…joke…maybe.
Anyways, here it goes. I’m gonna try to blog daily or maybe more (basically anytime I feel the need to talk about something). Eventually I’ll do some promoting and maybe people will actually read these. Who knows…
Thats all for now.
Note to self: think of a clever sign-off phrase.
